The empty martial arts analysis: A sports writer needs the courage to stop writing

For more than two decades in sports commentary, I have seen matches without scripts. But rarely have I seen a martial arts analysis without any content at all. In Vietnamese sports newsrooms, daily pressure is high. When there is no event, people invent narratives. When there is no data, people use emotion as a substitute. I once learned to prove my tactical views with video analysis and numbers. That lesson applies here in reverse: when data does not exist, the strongest sentence a reporter can write is we do not have enough information. A 1,737-word article built on an empty source would be no better than a staged fight. Vietnamese audiences deserve more than polished fabrications. They deserve a disciplined editorial process.
